DEBT CLAIM FEES

Debt Claims up to £100,000

 

The process for handling debt claims is to write an initial letter before claim to the debtor and give them 21 days to pay the outstanding debt.  If the debt is not paid at that stage we advise you as to whether the debtor appears to have sufficient assets to merit issuing a claim in Court.  If it is anticipated that the debtor will be able to pay a judgment debt we then proceed to prepare the claim for issue in Court.  The Court fee charged depends on the value of the debt and interest.  The current Court fees are set out below.

The claim could settle at any stage between us sending out the letter of claim, issue in Court and the trial and our fees will be charged on an hourly rate of £160 per hour plus VAT.  The total costs of running a debt claim to trial up to the value of £100,000 will be in the region of £3,000 to £6,000 plus VAT depending on the volume of papers involved and the number of witnesses.
