LUCY WALPOLE
Lucy joined Garden House Solicitors in May 2014 as a Paralegal and has since built a wealth of experience across the Personal Injury, Dispute Resolution, and Private Client departments. She was promoted to Trainee Solicitor in October 2016 and qualified as a Solicitor in Spring 2018.
Since qualifying, Lucy has specialised in civil litigation, with a particular focus on Personal Injury and Dispute Resolution. She has significant experience in handling high-value and complex claims, including those arising from road traffic accidents, accidents at work, package holiday accidents, and public liability matters such as slips, trips, and falls.
Lucy has developed a strong reputation for representing clients who have sustained catastrophic and life-changing injuries. She is regularly instructed in cases involving subtle brain injuries—particularly those which have been misdiagnosed or initially undetected—and has experience advising on claims involving psychological injury, PTSD, and depression. Her practice also includes claims against uninsured or untraced drivers, criminal injuries compensation claims, and representation at inquests.
Lucy was one of the lead solicitors in the reported case of Palmer v Mantas & Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company [2022] EWHC 90, a significant judgment in the area of catastrophic injury litigation.
She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is listed on the Solicitors Directory for Headway, the brain injury association, reflecting her expertise and commitment to supporting individuals affected by brain injury.
Lucy graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2012 and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in London.
Outside of work, Lucy enjoys an active lifestyle. She has completed the North London Half Marathon as well as several 5k and 10k charity runs. She practices yoga, enjoys long walks with her energetic Labrador, and loves spending time outdoors with her two young children.
