Managing Director

Patricia is the Company’s Managing Director and Principal Solicitor.

 

Having acquired a wealth of experience in the legal profession for over 35 years, Patricia established Garden House Solicitors in 2006, creating an energetic, amicable and professional team of legal advisors.

Lucy joined Garden House Solicitors in May 2014 as a Paralegal and has since built a wealth of experience across the Personal Injury, Dispute Resolution, and Private Client departments. She was promoted to Trainee Solicitor in October 2016 and qualified as a Solicitor in Spring 2018.

Consultant Solicitor 

Peter qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and for many years was a partner in Hertfordshire based firms. He has been associated with Garden House Solicitors since 2006 as a Consultant.

Peter has wide ranging legal experience and currently specialises in Probate, Wills, Trusts and Conveyancing.

Frances is a highly experienced Consultant Solicitor who qualified in 1997 and specialises in all aspects of Family Law.  A dedicated member of Resolution, she is committed to offering clear, practical legal advice free from unnecessary jargon.

 

With a strong focus on achieving amicable outcomes, Frances works to ensure that any agreement reached is fair and in the best interests of the whole family, particularly any children involved.  She believes that, with the right support, separating couples can navigate the divorce process with dignity and mutual respect, often remaining on good terms, something she views as invaluable for the long-term wellbeing of all parties.

 

Frances is proud to be recognised as a Leading Lawyer by Wiselaw, a testament to her expertise and client-focused approach.

 

Whenever possible, Frances undertakes her own advocacy, helping to keep legal costs down for her clients while maintaining continuity and personal service throughout the case.

Trainee Solicitor

Connor is currently a Trainee Solicitor at Garden House Solicitors. During his training, he has gained experience across a wide range of legal areas, including Personal Injury, Private Client, Employment, Debt Recovery, and Landlord and Tenant matters.

With over 36 years of experience in family law, Mark Betteridge offers a rare blend of knowledge, skill, and genuine compassion. Throughout his distinguished career, he has earned a reputation for providing clear, practical advice and steadfast support during life’s most difficult transitions.

Having founded and successfully led his own practice for many years, Mark combines deep legal expertise with a personal, approachable style. He tailors his guidance to each client’s unique situation, always focused on achieving the best possible outcome.

Susanne Joseph

Employment Consultant

Susanne joined the firm in 2017 as an employment consultant having previously qualified and practiced as a Barrister in Central London.

Susanne has experience in all areas of employment law but has a particular interest in working with employers to ensure that they comply with the law and to assist them when problems arise.

 

She also has extensive experience surrounding all types of workplace accidents and regularly assists the personal injury team with their cases.

Augustus is a  highly experienced Locum Conveyancer with extensive expertise in all aspects of property law, including residential sales and purchases, landlord and tenant matters, and residential conveyancing. Dedicated to delivering a seamless, client-focused service, ensuring every transaction progresses efficiently from instruction to completion.

 

Augustus is known for meticulous attention to detail, clear communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, providing clients with confidence and peace of mind throughout the conveyancing process.  With a strong understanding of property legislation and local market dynamics, Augustus works closely with clients and estate agents to achieve smooth and successful outcomes. Whether handling complex leasehold arrangements or straightforward freehold sales, his goal is to make every transaction as transparent and stress-free as possible.

Business Manager

Ken has extensive business experience and was instrumental in the setting up and also the continued success of the firm.  His role is to manage the business and ensure it runs efficiently by putting measures into operation to ensure the business is successful.  He is a visionary thinker and was responsible for sourcing and implementing systems to enable our solicitors and support staff to work efficiently from anywhere in the world.  Ken works closely with the firm’s accounts department in developing and implementing budgets and regularly reviews performance of the business to ensure each department meets its financial goals. He promotes an attitude of success and is a positive influence on the whole team.

Ruth has worked for Garden House since it started in April 2006 and has 37 years’ experience in Legal Accounts. She is a diplomaed member of The Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators.

Legal Cashier and Money Laundering Officer

Denise joined Garden House Solicitors in May 2020 in the role as Legal Cashier.

Denise has 37 years  experience as a Legal Cashier after leaving Lloyds Bank, her first job from school.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and family and traveling the UK.

Julie Retallick

Lexcel Compliance Officer

Julie joined the firm in July 2011 and in her role of LEXCEL Compliance Officer, she ensures that the firm’s badge of excellence is maintained with the Law Society. 

Client Liaison Officer

Elly joined the firm in December 2012 in the role of Client Liaison Officer. She is the first point of contact for clients and will always be able to update them on their matter at any time.

 

Elly is a real asset to the firm and its clients as she is always friendly and professional. 

Elly Wood

PA to Managing Director

Marsha is PA to the Principal Solicitor and Managing Director, supporting the smooth day to day running of the firm.   Her role includes a wide range of responsibilities, from administrative support to process serving.

Clients appreciate her warm welcome and friendly nature, which help put people at ease from the moment they arrive at the office. With her bubbly personality and attentive approach, Marsha is a highly valued member of the team.
