Garden House Solicitors for Wills Tailored To Your Needs!
I have recently come across cases of people who used an online Will writing service but they (or their beneficiaries) came to regret it. Often the person making the online Will did not understand the document and it did not do what they wanted. Sadly, this sometimes only became clear after the person signing the Will died and it could be too late to sort the problem.
These services usually market themselves as providing very cheap Wills. However, they usually produce a computer generated Will, which has a limited number of standard clauses and little (if any) advice about practical or tax matters.
One service routinely leaves the estate on discretionary trust without explaining to clients that a discretionary trust means no Residence Nil Rate Band can be claimed for Inheritance Tax purposes. This can mean an estate paying more tax than if the maker had understood the position and the Will drafted differently.
Making a Will with Garden House Solicitors is not expensive and we offer face to face, personal advice based on your needs a well as expert advice on tax planning and practical issues, such as the possibility of your Will being contested.
I am an experienced Senior Solicitor and a full member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and Solicitors for the Elderly.
My colleagues and I look forward to hearing from you.
