Our 2021 Annual Garden Party!
We held our annual Garden Party in aid of Happy Days Children’s Charity on Friday 02 July 2021.
Happy Days Children's Charity support local children and their families who have a wide range of needs, usually by arranging fun days out. Garden House Solicitors were particularly keen in supporting Happy Days this year given the increased struggle many disadvantaged children would have faced as a result of the pandemic. The money raised at the event will be spent on supporting children in Ware, Hertford, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.
On Friday in the garden behind their beautiful Victorian townhouse the sun was shining and the garden was filled with 30 friends, family and clients keen to support this cause.
The event also benefits from the firm’s relationships with local businesses, who very kindly and generously donated a wealth of prizes for the raffle. A raffle seemingly with no end, but executed to perfection by our marvellous Master of Ceremonies, Ken Ling. There were some very happy winners, walking away with prizes ranging from restaurant vouchers and hampers, through to beauty treatments and dance lessons.
The highlight of the day was the traditional Malteaser's throwing and catching competition, whereby competitors are required to throw Malteaser's into their partners’ mouths. Unsurprisingly, there was no shortage of willing participants! Congratulations to Jon Grant and Alison Smith (seen in the attached photograph) for winning the 2021 trophies.
Principal Solicitor Patricia Ling, and all the team at Garden House Solicitors, would like to express their sincere thanks to the local businesses that made a donation, as well as everyone who attended on the day and those who were unable to attend the event but still made a donation.
It was a fantastic day and the sum raised of £1,939.50 for Happy Days Children’s Charity will undoubtedly have a positive impact on disadvantaged children across Hertfordshire who have faced such a difficult time during the pandemic.

Their donation will be helping us create special days which will bring happiness and hope for hundreds of children in Hertfordshire. We’re already planning a very special theatre day for children at a local special educational needs school and hope that some of the staff from Garden House will be able to join us to see just what a difference a day makes.
