Tokyo Olympic Games 2020

As a result of the pandemic, a decision was made for the 2020 Olympics to be postponed until the summer of 2021. Despite the rise in vaccinations and the fall of infection rates, the Tokyo Olympics have set in motion many rigorous COVID-safety measures to minimize risk of the virus spreading at the games. After a challenging year full of lockdowns and isolation, the Olympics in Tokyo has been well supported internationally.

The Garden House Solicitors team have definitely been enjoying the Olympics so far! Samuel loves to watch the kayaking as he often kayaks in his spare time. Julie is an avid golfer so her favourite Olympic sport to watch is the golf, although she loves watching the athletics too. Marsha and Patricia both love to watch the trampolining and my favourite Olympic sport to watch is gymnastics.

Team GB have been breaking boundaries and have already secured 11 gold medals at this stage in the games. On Sunday, Charlotte Worthington won gold in the women’s BMX park freestyle and the trio of Oliver Townend, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen secured first place in Equestrian eventing. Team GB have also made history in the pool, securing the men’s 4x100m medley relay silver as their eighth swimming medal of the games. At the moment, Team GB are 6th in medal ranking. China are winning, closely followed by the USA then Japan.

At Garden House, we would like to congratulate all of the athletes that have already competed and wish the best of luck to those who are yet to compete. Team GB for the win!
